The content release schedule for Bethesda seems rather brisk, and the community will write mods for just about anything under the sun.
In about 6 months I'm expecting that this opinion will be invalidated. At the same time, you get a conclusive and satisfying story, with the amazing DLC, for the same price as this shell of a game. New Vegas isn't as pretty, it isn't as expansive, and it requires mods to give it some of what Fallout 4 does.

Be prepared to download mods, but they're readily available (with installers) on the largest fan site out there (Google "Nexus, mods" and you'll find it). Overall Review: Go buy Fallout: New Vegas. While it is generally technically better than all of the previous Bethesda led Fallout games (3 and New Vegas), it lost its soul on the way to mechanical competence. What we got was an amazing 30ish hours of content, leading to a depressingly hollow ending. This game was hyped as absolutely amazing. Within a week the community managed to put out numerous patches and fixes, which took Bethesda months to implement. I popped in the disc, jumped through the hoops necessary to install off of a disc, and the thing is done about 45 minutes later. The Power Armor seems to act more like a machine rather than a set of clothes like it did in the past games so it can get damaged some that you can see, customized and upgraded in many ways, uses power, and when you exit it it stays in the world so if the power runs out you can temporarily abandon it and come back to the place it will still be standing later.Ĭons: 5.2 GB out of 24GB is all that was on the disc I had to download the rest.The disc has less than 25% of the game on it making it almost useless as a quick install or backup the two main reasons why I and many others buy a physical disc and there is no good reason for it. There is a lot of customization in the game you can design and build the buildings in your own settlements with crafting stations that seem like an upgraded version of what Skyrim has. Pros: It is a great game from what I've played so far I like the changes compared to older Fallout games. I really enjoy that about certain games and it makes them more memorable, IMO. There's so much to do, and locations to explore that 20-30 hours in, my experience has been like a story in and of itself. While the pre-written storyline is kind of lame (it was in Fallout 3 too), it doesn't hurt the gameplay IMO.

The HUGE amount of content generates an adventure around the player, IMO. Good RPG element, even if the pre-written storyline is lackluster. Pros: - In general, Fallout 4 is a lot of fun.
